The model is aimed at a narrow set of users. Anthropic names cyberdefenders, infrastructure providers, and biomedical researchers as the intended audience. It is not a general office productivity tool.

The public Claude Fable 5 model refuses high-risk cyber and bio requests. Mythos 5 does not refuse them for approved users. That gap is the reason access is gated so tightly.

Business accounts carry a mandatory 30-day safety retention. That means data is held for safety review, then deleted. Full zero-data-retention is not available on this model.

Fable 5 runs on the Claude Platform, Claude.ai, Claude Code, and Cowork. Anthropic reports that more than 95% of Fable 5 sessions never trigger a safety fallback. For normal knowledge work, the guardrails rarely get in the way.

Fable 5 inherits Anthropic SOC 2, ISO 27001, and ISO 42001. A HIPAA BAA is available on the API and Enterprise plans. Note it also carries a mandatory 30-day safety retention, so plan your data handling accordingly.
