Krea AI Pricing for Krea 3 API and App Plans

Krea 3 edits cost $0.06 at 2K on the API, while krea.ai app plans range from free to $200 per month.

Reviewed by Jonathan West · Updated Oct 16, 2026

As of October 2026, Krea AI pricing has two tracks: pay per image on the Krea Application Programming Interface (API), or pay monthly for a krea.ai app plan. App plans give you compute units, which Krea converts into an approximate number of Krea 3 images.

Krea 3, released October 15, 2026, is Krea's image editing model, and Krea says it spends compute only on the region you change. Which track costs less depends on how many images you edit a month, at what resolution, and how many seats your team needs.

Krea 3 Price at a Glance

Krea 3 costs $0.06 per 2K edit ($0.03 at 1K) on the Krea API. In the krea.ai app, the Free plan gives about 5 Krea 3 images a day, and paid plans run $9 to $200 a month as of October 2026.

On app plans, Krea measures usage in compute units. Krea's pricing page lists an approximate Krea 3 Beta image count beside each unit total. Business shows about 1,111 images, the same as Pro, despite four times Pro's compute units. The page does not explain the gap, so check the Krea pricing page before you choose Business for image volume.

Krea's pricing page advertises "Save 40%" on yearly billing, which matches Pro and Max, but Business works out to 20 percent off ($160 against $200). For Basic, the page lists $5 a month billed yearly in one place and $5.25 in its comparison table, so budget $5.25 to be safe.

API vs App Plan: Which Krea AI Pricing Option Is Cheaper

For 2K edits at steady volume, Pro costs less than the API. At 1K, the API stays cheaper.

The Pro subscription costs $35 per month and yields approximately 1,111 Krea 3 Beta images. The same 1,111 images on the API at $0.06 per 2K image cost $66.66 (1,111 × $0.06). If Krea's approximate image count holds, Pro is $31.66 cheaper ($66.66 minus $35). The break-even is about 583 2K edits a month, since 583 × $0.06 is $34.98.

On the 1K API, the same 1,111 images at $0.03 each total $33.33, slightly less than the $35 Pro fee. On the $9 Basic plan, users receive 5,000 compute units, which Krea estimates as 277 images. On the API, 277 images cost $16.62 at 2K and $8.31 at 1K, so Basic costs less than the API for 2K edits but not for 1K.

Compute units in app plans are shared with other models in the Krea app, so images made with other models reduce the Krea 3 count. The image estimates published by Krea serve as approximations rather than guaranteed allowances.

Is Krea Free?

The Krea Free plan grants 100 compute units daily, which produces about five Krea 3 edits per day.

Free accounts run one image at a time, so each edit has to finish before the next one starts. Upscaling on Free stops at 2K, the same resolution Krea 3 outputs natively.

Krea's pricing page is unclear on commercial use for Free accounts. The Free plan's feature list shows a commercial license, but the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on the Krea pricing page names only paid plans as licensed for "marketing, advertising, products, and client work." Check the Krea pricing page before you put Free outputs into client work.

User reports on Hacker News are unverified. One user said the signup trial stopped after one round of three images. Some users saw noisy texture or dithering, and one designer's background-removal test changed faces. Run a few test edits on the Free plan before you pay for a plan.

Krea 3 vs Nano Banana Pro vs GPT Image 2: Cost and Speed

Krea reports that Krea 3 processes 2K image edits faster and at lower per-image rates than rival models.

ModelKrea-Reported Price per Image (No Image References)Krea-Reported Cost per 100,000 EditsKrea-Reported Median Time per EditTiming Source
Krea 3$0.06$6,000Under 8 secondsKrea launch post

GPT Image 2$0.22$22,00090 secondsKrea launch post
GPT Image 2.5Draft estimateNot published39.9 secondsKrea product page batch test

All speed and cost comparison figures originate from Krea's own marketing benchmarks rather than third-party laboratory evaluations. In its launch post, Krea measures median latency from September 24 to October 1, 2026, including queue times, showing Krea 3 finishing under 8 seconds. On the Krea 3 product page, Krea gives different rival timings: Nano Banana Pro at 26.8 seconds and GPT Image 2.5 at 39.9 seconds. Both rival timings are the median of a 12-image batch, queue included, and Krea 3 appears on the product page at an "illustrative" 8 seconds. For Google's own pricing context, see the Nano Banana 2.1 API pricing guide.

Krea labels its GPT Image 2.5 pricing as a draft estimate pending validation. Lower prices and faster published latencies do not demonstrate superior image generation quality. Krea's launch post names no benchmark score, and Krea co-founder Diego Rodriguez wrote on Hacker News that benchmarks are still being worked on, with a technical report promised. No independent quality test of Krea 3 has been published yet. Glitchwire reports a 4.81 out of 5 score on CPI-Bench in an "Ultra" tier, second behind GPT Image 2.5. That score is a press report and does not appear on Krea's launch post.

What Each Plan Adds Beyond Images

Business and Enterprise plans add team controls, contract terms and compute rollovers on top of the image allowance.

The Business plan costs $200 per month, or $160 monthly billed annually, and includes up to 50 user seats. Business also adds a shared team workspace, model access controls and per-member spend limits, so you can control which models each member uses and cap what each member spends. The Business Terms of Service carry data protection and no-training clauses, so Krea commits in writing to protect your team's data and not train on it. Unused Business compute units carry over into the next billing cycle.

Enterprise adds custom quotas and Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) Single Sign-On (SSO), so staff sign in to Krea through your company's own login system. Enterprise also includes Service Level Agreement (SLA) support, so support terms are set in a contract. Enterprise's Intellectual Property (IP) indemnification applies "when usage follows the agreement terms," so Krea carries covered IP claims while you follow those terms. Krea's FAQ says Enterprise customers can self-host Krea 3 on their own graphics processing units (GPUs) in their own cloud. Enterprise accounts also roll over unused units, while Basic, Pro and Max units do not.

Krea sells one-time compute packs valid for 90 days, but their prices are not shown on the Krea pricing page. The pricing page also lists a launch promotion of "Unlimited Fast generations at 1K and 2K for 14 days with a qualifying Pro or Max annual purchase." Basic is not included, and no end date is shown.

How to Cancel a Krea AI Subscription

Cancel a Krea subscription from your Krea account settings, or contact Krea support.

Krea does not publish cancel steps or menu names on its pricing page.

Compute units on Basic, Pro and Max plans do not roll over, so use your remaining units and time the cancellation to the end of your billing cycle.

Is Krea 3 Worth Paying For

Krea 3 is worth paying for on the API if you edit through code, and on a krea.ai app plan if you edit in the app at steady volume.

The Krea API at $0.06 per 2K edit suits developers with irregular volume, because you pay only for the images you make. Pro at $35 a month suits steady app use above about 583 2K edits a month, the point where 583 × $0.06 reaches about $35. Stay on Free if about 5 Krea 3 images a day covers your work, but confirm the commercial terms on the Krea pricing page first. Business at $200 a month fits teams that need up to 50 seats, per-member spend limits and no-training terms. Krea lists Business at about 1,111 Krea 3 images a month, the same as Pro.

Krea 3 does not fit teams that want open weights, because Krea has not released them. Only Enterprise plans can run Krea 3 on your own GPUs. Teams that need an independent quality ranking should wait for one. This advice would change if Krea cuts its list price, publishes compute pack prices, or releases LoRA training for Krea 3.

Before you subscribe, read Krea 3 explained and the Krea 3 vs Krea 2 comparison. Then check current Krea AI pricing on Krea's pricing page and pick the plan that matches your monthly edit count.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Krea 3 costs $0.06 per 2K image and $0.03 per 1K image on the Krea API. In the krea.ai app, the Free plan gives about 5 Krea 3 images a day. Basic is $9 monthly ($5 to $5.25 billed yearly, as listed), Pro $35 ($21 yearly), Max $105 ($63 yearly) and Business $200 ($160 yearly). Enterprise pricing is custom.
  • Yes, the Krea app has a Free plan that supplies 100 compute units every day, which yields approximately five Krea 3 edits per day. On Free, each edit finishes before the next starts, and upscaling stops at 2K. Krea's pricing page is unclear on whether Free outputs carry a commercial license, so confirm there before client work.
  • A Krea AI app subscription costs $9 per month for Basic, $35 per month for Pro, $105 per month for Max, and $200 per month for Business. Annual billing discounts lower these rates to $5 or $5.25 monthly for Basic, $21 for Pro, $63 for Max, and $160 for Business.
  • To cancel a Krea AI subscription, manage the subscription from your Krea account settings or contact Krea support directly. Because compute units on Basic, Pro, and Max plans do not roll over, consume any remaining units before your current billing cycle expires.
  • For about 1,111 2K edits a month, Pro at $35 costs less than the $66.66 the same edits cost on the API, based on Krea's approximate image count. At 1K, 1,111 API edits cost $33.33, slightly under Pro, and the API suits irregular volume. Krea 3 is a poor fit if you need open weights or a benchmark score Krea itself has published, since neither exists as of October 2026.
  • Krea's own comparison lists Google's Nano Banana Pro and OpenAI's GPT Image 2 as rivals, and Krea reports both cost more per image and take longer per edit. No independent quality test of Krea 3 has been published yet. For other image models, see Flux explained and Seedream 5.0 explained.
  • Paid Krea subscriptions explicitly include a commercial license covering marketing, advertising, products, and client deliverables. Krea's pricing feature list also shows a commercial license on the Free plan, but the FAQ leaves the Free plan out. Confirm the terms on the Krea pricing page before you use Free plan images commercially.
