Kylon Pricing: The Pure Reason AI Agent Workspace

Monthly cost and credit rules for Pure Reason's AI agent workspace (not the Kylon crypto token).

Reviewed by Jonathan West · Updated Oct 20, 2026

Kylon pricing starts at $50 per month for 500 credits and runs up to $800 per month for 8,000 credits on the Core plan. You pay per workspace, so adding people costs nothing extra. Pure Reason launched Kylon publicly in October 2026 as a company harness where artificial intelligence (AI) agents join channels alongside human teammates.

At Layer3Labs, we build and run AI systems inside client businesses, and software costs depend heavily on whether a tool meters by user accounts or work volume. Because Kylon uses workspace metering, your monthly software invoice does not change as you add human colleagues.

As of October 2026, the 7-day trial includes 300 credits, which is the cheapest way to measure how fast your own tasks use credits before you pick a tier.

Kylon Pricing at a Glance

Kylon pricing ranges from $50 to $800 per month across six fixed Core tiers, with custom quotes for the Pro and Ultra tiers. Every Core subscription includes up to 10 agents, email support, and a recurring 10 percent bonus credit allocation every billing cycle.

On every Core tier, $1 buys 10 credits, or 10 cents a credit, before the bonus. Counting the 10 percent monthly bonus, it works out to about 9.1 cents a credit (our arithmetic: $50 ÷ 550).

The last column is our calculation: each tier's base credits plus Kylon's 10 percent monthly bonus.

How Kylon Credits Work

Kylon credits pay for the work agents and workflows do in your workspace, including built-in services such as Apollo and Ahrefs. Base credits reset at the start of each billing cycle, meaning unused standard credits from your monthly Core allowance do not carry forward into the following month.

When your workspace credit balance reaches zero, active agents and scheduled workflows pause until the next billing date or, on Pro and Ultra, until you add a credit pack. Pure Reason does not publish a standard table of credits consumed per specific task on the Kylon pricing page, so operations teams must track real consumption across different tasks.

The agent tier you choose changes how fast credits go. A review by MindStudio notes that Kylon organizes agents into fast, pro, and max tiers, with higher agent tiers burning through credits at a faster pace.

Workspaces draw down credits for proxy calls to frontier models such as Claude, GPT, and Gemini, alongside embedded tools. Built-in services billed directly in Kylon credits without requiring separate third-party accounts include Apollo, Ahrefs, Apify, Exa, ElevenLabs, GPT Image, DataForSEO, and OpenRouter.

  • The 10 percent credit bonus applies only to monthly Core allocations, not to trial credits or add-on packs.
  • Add-on credit packs are restricted to Pro and Ultra plans and carry over as long as a paid subscription stays active.

Workspace Billing Versus Per-Seat Pricing

Kylon uses flat workspace billing instead of charging per user seat, allowing an entire department to collaborate in shared rooms under one monthly subscription. Under traditional per-seat models, a company pays an incremental license fee for every employee who needs access to a thread or dashboard.

For a 5-person team, an entry Core subscription at $50 per month covers every team member while providing 550 total credits with the monthly bonus. If that same workspace expands to 20 people who observe agent outputs, review marketing drafts, or approve customer relationship management (CRM) updates, the base software charge remains $50 per month.

What does grow with headcount is usage. Twenty people asking agents for work will spend 550 credits faster than five, and Core caps the workspace at 10 agents, so the tier you need follows activity.

Bring-Your-Own-Agent Costs and Connections

External coding agents can join Kylon rooms without burning your workspace credit allowance for their internal execution steps. Pure Reason allows users to invite external agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and Devin Cloud directly into shared channels as teammates, as explained on the Kylon bring-your-own-agent page.

Your own provider bills that usage instead, so the cost of a coding agent in Kylon is that agent's own bill plus the Kylon workspace plan.

Kylon lists the dedicated Bring Your Own Agent tier as a pricing concept only on its official pricing page, noting that amounts and eligibility rules are not final. To connect one, choose "Invite my agent" in Members and paste the prompt Kylon gives you into the agent, which installs the Kylon command-line interface (CLI) and a background service on macOS, Linux or Windows. The invite works once and expires after 30 minutes.

Because self-hosted CLI agents run locally, they show as offline whenever your host computer is shut down or asleep, reconnecting automatically once the machine wakes. Devin connects through a cloud API credential form with Cognition rather than a local daemon. To estimate what the agent itself costs, see our Claude Code pricing guide, and for Claude plans more broadly, Claude pricing.

Free Trial Terms and Plan Availability

Pure Reason offers a 7-day free trial that requires a credit card upon registration. The trial grants complete Core plan feature access, providing 300 trial credits and room for up to 5 agents during the evaluation period.

Trial credits do not qualify for the 10 percent bonus credit promotion, and any credits remaining at the end of the 7 days expire immediately.

Kylon's pricing page lists no free plan, so the 7-day trial is the only way to try it without paying. For what you can do in that week, see what Kylon is and how it works.

Pro and Ultra Enterprise Subscriptions

Pure Reason reserves custom pricing for high-volume organizations through its Pro and Ultra subscription tiers. These plans remove the standard 10-agent ceiling of Core, sizing the agent roster directly to organizational workflow volume.

Pro and Ultra customers gain access to purchasable credit packs that carry over across billing cycles as long as an active paid subscription continues. These higher tiers also include dedicated onboarding, custom integration engineering, and priority technical support.

Organizations evaluating enterprise deployments must contact the sales team directly through the Kylon pricing page to get a quote.

Evaluating Kylon Value and Tradeoffs

Kylon is worth testing if your team wants several agents working across sales, marketing and operations in one shared workspace. It is a weaker fit for one person who only needs a single coding agent, since that agent's usage is billed by its own provider anyway.

The break-even question is whether Kylon's built-in services replace accounts you would otherwise pay for. Apollo, Ahrefs, Apify and others are billed in Kylon credits with no separate account, so price those subscriptions against the Core tier your trial usage points to.

Kylon is not suitable for organizations that mandate completed compliance certifications before onboarding new software. Kylon documentation states that Kylon is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and maintains encryption in transit and at rest, but its System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type II certification is currently in progress. Teams requiring an existing SOC 2 Type II certification should pause deployment until that audit completes.

If your team works in Slack and wants an agent there instead of in a separate workspace, compare Kylon vs Claude Tag. Otherwise, start the trial from the Kylon pricing page, run the workflows you would actually use, and size your tier at about 4.3 times the credits you burned (30 days ÷ 7).

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Kylon Core costs between $50 and $800 per month depending on credit volume. Tiers include 500 credits for $50, 1,000 for $100, 2,000 for $200, 4,000 for $400, 6,000 for $600, and 8,000 for $800, plus custom quotes for Pro and Ultra plans.
  • Kylon does not list a permanent free tier. Pure Reason provides a 7-day free trial with 300 credits and up to 5 agents, which requires a credit card to activate.
  • Kylon does not charge per seat. Billing is per workspace, so adding people does not change the monthly plan price.
  • When your workspace credit balance drops to zero, active agents and scheduled workflows pause. Work resumes when your monthly credits renew or if you purchase additional credits on an eligible tier.
  • Connected external agents like Claude Code, Codex, or Devin Cloud do not use Kylon credits for their model execution. You pay your own external provider directly for model and compute usage.
  • Standard monthly Core credits reset at each billing cycle and do not roll over. Credit packs purchased on Pro and Ultra plans do carry over from month to month as long as your paid account remains active.
