Filevine Pricing for Law Firms (2026)

What the four Filevine packages and their extensions include.

Reviewed by Jonathan West · Updated Oct 20, 2026

As of October 2026, Filevine does not publish a standard monthly rate, per-seat fee, or public price list for its legal software.

The Filevine pricing page describes one free offer, LOIS Explore, which does not include Filevine case management. Compare quote-only Filevine with vendors that publish prices in the best legal practice management software ranking.

Before signing, ask Filevine sales about user licensing, implementation charges and contract length.

What Filevine Costs

Filevine does not publish a list price or per-user rate on the Filevine pricing page. Every package is custom built and quoted per organization based on the packages and extensions a firm selects. On its pricing page, Filevine explains that each organization is unique and that Filevine's team will work closely with each organization to tailor a cost-effective and scalable plan.

The pricing page offers a sales request for a custom quote and a demo.

The Four Filevine Packages

Filevine shows four packages on its pricing page: Matters, Intake, Depositions and Signatures.

Alongside these four packages, Filevine offers an artificial intelligence (AI) layer named Legal Operating Intelligence System (LOIS). Its components include LOIS for Word, Ask LOIS, AI Drafting, Depo Copilot, Depo Summaries, Depo Library, and MedChron.

  • Matters: Serves as the central hub for managing legal matters from intake to payment, incorporating core matter records, document management, document assembly, and billing tools.
  • Intake: Captures, qualifies, and routes leads automatically through dedicated lead management workflows, form delivery, and intake automation tools. Components are Lead Docket (referral fee tracking, online payments), Lead Docket Automation and Leads AI (lead summarization, sentiment analysis, automatic timelines).
  • Depositions: Provides automated scheduling, live transcription assistance, video synchronization, and automated transcript summaries. Components are Deposition Scheduling and Hosting, Depo Copilot, Depo Library and Deposition Summaries AI.
  • Signatures: Provides electronic signature functionality under the Vinesign brand, supporting document templates, text message distribution, email delivery, and payments.

Components of the Matters Package and Extensions

The Matters package contains four components. Matter Management provides task tracking, contact management, deadlines, and integrated calendars. Document Management provides clear organization, advanced search, and secure file sharing. Document Assembly allows one-click document generation, live and interactive documents, and automated workflows. Payments delivers time tracking, invoice management, and online payments.

The Matters package has five extensions: Periscope, Timely, Client Portal, DataBridge and native or partner Integrations. Periscope provides business analytics, Timely generates court deadlines automatically for any jurisdiction in the country, and DataBridge gives secure, real-time access to Filevine data.

LOIS Explore and the Filevine Free Offer

The Filevine pricing page describes a free trial of LOIS through LOIS Explore, a free tier with no credit card required, so a firm can test Filevine's Legal Operating Intelligence System (LOIS) without paying.

Users on LOIS Explore can upload documents and ask questions from their files, draft content with AI with every result cited to source, and use legal research and the opinion reader. The tier also grants access to the LOIS Console and Skills. The pricing page states that LOIS Explore does not require a Filevine case connection and does not provide access to Filevine Case Management.

A full-product demo is available through a Filevine sales request.

Contract Questions Before Accepting Filevine Pricing

Because Filevine prices software through custom quotes, law firm administrators must clarify billing terms, implementation fees, and contract conditions before signing an agreement. Filevine relies on an ecosystem of Certified Implementation Partners to handle implementations and customize software to a team's workflows. Filevine does not publish whether implementation partner services incur separate fees. Filevine's Customer Success and Support teams provide ongoing support.

Administrators evaluating a proposal should present specific operational questions to the Filevine sales team about each cost line:

  • Billing Metric: Is the proposed subscription billed on a per-user seat model, an active-matter volume model, or a flat organizational license fee?
  • Package Inclusions: Which specific Matters extensions, such as Timely deadline management, Periscope analytics, or DataBridge data access, are included in the base rate versus billed as separate add-on subscriptions?
  • Implementation Expenses: What are the exact setup, data migration, and training fees charged by Filevine Certified Implementation Partners to launch the system?
  • Agreement Duration: What is the required initial contract term length, what are the annual renewal price escalators, and what cancellation notice periods apply?
  • Data Portability: How does Filevine handle data export formats, database backups, and associated fees if the firm chooses to transition to another software provider in the future?
