Gemini Pricing for Every US Plan

What each Google AI plan costs in the US, and what the extra usage and storage buy.

Reviewed by Jonathan West · Updated Oct 1, 2026

Gemini pricing for consumer plans in the United States (US) ranges from $0 on the Free tier up to $199.99 per month for the highest compute tier. At Layer3Labs, we build and operate artificial intelligence (AI) systems inside small and mid-sized businesses, so we compare these plans on the two things the price buys: usage limits and storage. Google sells four consumer tiers.

Google AI Plus costs $4.99 per month. Google AI Pro costs $19.99 per month and includes 5 terabytes (TB) of cloud storage. The top subscription is Google AI Ultra, priced at either $99.99 or $199.99 per month depending on compute access.

Free options exist alongside these paid tiers. The baseline Free plan costs nothing and requires only a Google Account. Eligible US college students can also claim a free year of Google AI Pro. Developer access operates on an entirely different billing system.

Gemini Plans and Prices

Gemini's consumer plans in the US are AI Plus at $4.99/mo, AI Pro at $19.99/mo, and AI Ultra at $99.99 or $199.99/mo. The $0 Free plan includes 3.6 Flash, limited 3.1 Pro, and 15 gigabytes (GB) of storage, and eligible US students can get a free year of AI Pro.

Google publishes these consumer rates on the official Google subscriptions page. All four paid options bundle cloud storage with model access. Prices outside the United States vary by country and local currency.

Features Included on the Free Plan

The baseline Free plan costs $0. All it takes is a Google Account.

Image generation and editing are on the Free plan, so you do not need a paid tier to make images.

Storage is capped at 15 GB shared across Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Photos. Paying makes sense only when you need more usage or more than 15 GB of storage.

  • Core model access: Includes 3.6 Flash.
  • Advanced model access: Includes varying access to 3.1 Pro.
  • Productivity tools: Includes Deep Research, Gemini Live, Canvas, and Gems.
  • Creative and experimental tools: Includes image generation and editing, plus limited access to Google Flow (Nano Banana Pro) and Gemini Notebook.
  • Storage allowance: Includes 15 GB of shared cloud storage across Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Photos.

Choosing the Right Plan

Pick a Gemini plan by two numbers: the storage you need and how often you hit the usage limit. Start one tier low and move up the first week the limit stops you.

These plans are not for developers building apps on Gemini, who need the Gemini API instead of a consumer login.

Our answer would change if Google gave Free users full access to 3.1 Pro. Full access to that model would make paying for entry-level tiers unnecessary for most personal tasks.

  • Pick Google AI Plus: Choose this tier if you need more than 15 GB of storage or hit the Free plan's usage limit.
  • Pick Google AI Pro: Choose this tier if you hit the Google AI Plus limit or need 5 TB of storage.
  • Pick Google AI Ultra: Choose this tier if you exhaust Google AI Pro limits and need 5x or 20x its usage.

Free and Discounted Routes

Eligible college students can access Google AI subscriptions without paying standard fees. Google offers one year of Google AI Pro for free to eligible college students ages 18 and older in the United States.

That offer carries a stated value of $19.99 per month. Students must redeem by December 31, 2026. A valid form of payment is required at sign-up. Unless cancelled earlier, Google AI Pro will automatically charge $19.99 per month after the trial ends.

The verification process runs through SheerID using a school email address. Outside the United States, eligible students receive one year of Google AI Plus free of charge. That trial includes 400 GB of storage.

Canada is excluded from this program. Other excluded regions include Albania, Bolivia, Hong Kong, Macau, and Tunisia.

Official program terms appear on the Google student offer page and the Google blog announcement. Review the Google One support documentation for regional restrictions.

Gemini API Pricing Distinction

Developer application programming interface (API) usage is billed separately from consumer plans. A consumer subscription to Google AI Pro or Ultra does not cover API calls.

Current developer rates are on the Gemini API pricing page. We examine developer rates in our Gemini 3 Pro pricing guide. Keep software integrations separate from personal subscriptions.

How Gemini Pricing Compares to Alternatives

Google AI Pro costs $19.99 per month and bundles 5 TB of cloud storage into that price.

Gemini Pricing for Business Teams

The subscriptions on this page are consumer plans tied to a single Google Account. Seat-based business pricing falls outside these individual plans.

Organizations needing centralized billing and workspace controls should evaluate dedicated team agreements. You can review enterprise options in our AI subscription plans for business guide.

Start on the Free plan, and check Gemini pricing on the Google subscriptions page the first week you hit its usage limit.
