Smokeball Pricing for Law Firms (2026)

What the four Smokeball plans include and which fees apply on top.

Reviewed by Jonathan West · Updated Oct 20, 2026

Smokeball does not publish a price for any plan as of October 2026. Firms can request a personalized, no-obligation quote for Bill, Boost, Grow or Prosper+.

Smokeball states that it prices subscriptions based on the number of users at your firm, your selected plan, the contract term, and any optional products or services.

Smokeball Pricing by Plan

Smokeball does not publish a list price or standard per-month cost for any of its four software tiers. Smokeball lists each option with a "Get pricing" button on the Smokeball pricing page, and Smokeball asks firms to request a personalized, no-obligation quote based on firm size, workflows, and practice management needs.

The Smokeball pricing page says every plan includes onboarding, data security and a local team. The four plans step up from billing (Bill) to browser-based case management (Boost), a native desktop application (Grow) and firm-wide operations (Prosper+).

  • Bill: Smokeball describes Bill as a legal billing solution that helps law firms manage expenses, trust accounting, and client payments. Features include invoicing, manual time and expense tracking, online payment acceptance, trust accounting and reporting, and accounting integrations.
  • Boost: Smokeball provides browser-based case management in this plan to organize daily operations and help firms collect payments faster. Boost includes everything in Bill plus fully browser-based access, client and matter management, task and calendar management, email, calendar and word-processor integration, a client portal, automated letterhead templates, eSignature, eFiling, and Communicate powered by Smokeball AI. Optional add-ons on Boost include Intake and the Archie AI assistant.
  • Grow: Smokeball labels Grow as its "Best Value" plan, designed for firms with three or more staff members who collaborate on legal matters. Grow includes everything in Boost plus Smokeball's native desktop application, practice area templates, practice area calculators, advanced document automation, automated forms and templates, email management, and a web app. Optional add-ons on Grow include the Archie AI assistant, AutoTime, FamilyPro, Intake, and Workflows.
  • Prosper+: Smokeball structures Prosper+ as an all-in-one management platform that coordinates firm-wide operations. Prosper+ includes everything in Grow plus firm insights reporting, lead management, inquiry intake, advanced matter intake, custom workflows, workflow templates, staff activity reporting, profitability reporting, and Intake powered by Smokeball AI. AutoTime, Intake, and Workflows are included in the Prosper+ plan, while the Archie AI assistant and FamilyPro remain optional add-ons.

Quote Variables and Pricing Factors

A custom quote from Smokeball depends on the number of users, the selected plan, the contract term, and any optional products or services, according to the Smokeball pricing page.

Smokeball states there is no limit to the number of firm users, but the quote still depends on how many users the firm has. Ask Smokeball which contract terms it quotes and how the term changes the price.

Feature Availability Across Smokeball Plans

The table below shows time tracking and add-on availability by plan, as listed on the Smokeball pricing page. The comparison table lists profitability reports as available with the AutoTime add-on.

Where Fees Apply on Top of the Plans

The comparison table marks online payments, eFiling, email marketing and trust management as 'Fees apply'. Smokeball does not publish those rates.

The best legal client intake software ranking covers standalone intake options.

Implementation, Data Migration, and Plan Renewal

Smokeball provides onboarding and training tailored to each firm's chosen plan through live sessions, guided resources, and the Smokeball Academy. When moving existing records from another legal practice system, data migration options depend on the source platform, the types of data stored, and overall record complexity. Smokeball says that any migration services and related costs are confirmed directly in your personalized quote.

When a plan is up for renewal, a firm can renew its current plan and keep its features, or upgrade or downgrade to add or remove features.

Questions to put to Smokeball before signing include:

  • Does data migration carry a separate one-time fee?
  • What processing rates apply to online payments?
  • Does onboarding include custom document template setup?
  • What notice period is required prior to contract renewal?

Evaluating Quote-Based Versus Published Pricing

Published-price vendors give a baseline for a quote. The Clio pricing guide and MyCase pricing guide cover two vendors that publish prices. Filevine is another quote-only vendor. The best legal practice management software ranking covers other options.

Compare quotes on the same user count and term, and ask what each add-on costs. Ask Smokeball for a written breakdown of the user licenses, add-ons and processing fees in the quote.

To price Grow against Prosper+, ask Smokeball to quote Grow with the AutoTime, Workflows and Intake add-ons. Prosper+ includes all three, and it also adds firm insights reporting, lead management and custom workflows that Grow does not list. Boost lists only Intake and the Archie AI assistant as add-ons, so a Boost quote has two optional lines to price.

Smokeball designs Grow for firms with three or more staff members who collaborate on matters. A solo lawyer comparing quotes can start by pricing Bill and Boost, then ask for a Grow quote to see what the native desktop application and practice area templates add.
